Background:

Diane Forsyth is the Director of the Addiction Help Agency in Westcourt and for the past eleven years has been responsible for delivering high quality programs for people with drug problems.  Prior to this, Diane was employed by a youth agency, ran her own business (a restaurant), worked in the public service (Education) and private industry.  Diane is also an active volunteer for many worthy causes and organisations.  She has two grown up daughters, one living with her.

Diane has been involved with a large number of community organizations holding many executive positions.

Why stand for Division 7?

Diane is passionate about the Cairns region with its tropical beauty and uniqueness and will work tirelessly to maintain that uniqueness whilst planning for sustainable growth.  Maintaining our treasured buildings and tropical lifestyle is very important to Diane.

With her people skills and wealth of experience in management, decision making and planning, Diane certainly knows how to listen to the issues of Division 7 residents.  She will work to find solutions whether they are the upgrading of essential services, safety on our roads, paving footpaths, kerbing and channelling or the enhancement of parks and recreational areas for both adults and children.
